Unit 7 Micro Residency, Govan, Glasgow
7 days in Unit 7 to explore 7 ways, to engage with the River Clyde
This work acted a preliminary and very playful study, a testing field for wider/longer term thoughts towards a project that considers the relationship between people Glasgow and the river Clyde (or a smaller body of urban water.) The week employed a practice of research through actions and interventions based on instant reactions between myself and the stretch of the Clyde opposite the studio. For each day I created a small interactive object or tool, hypothetical, imaginary, utilitarian or whimsical, but which enabled me to attempt to see the river in a new capacity or to evoke an interesting experience of it. The outline for the interventions was to search for signs of life in the Clyde or its local tributaries.
